About Us

Science Corner

  The Raman Science Centre, Nagpur is an constituent unit of National Council of Science Museums, Kolkata, Working under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. This centre is established in the year 1989 for popularisation of Science among masses and students in particular of Vidarbha region. The name Raman was given due to the fact the Sir C. V. Raman, first Indian Nobel laureate in Physics, who has a Nagpur connection while he was associated with Auditor general's office in Nagpur.

& all Public Holidays as per list

27th November, 1701- Birthday of physicist Anders Celsius who invented the Celsius temperature scale.

Raman Science Centre & Planetarium is open every day from 11.30 am to 7.00 pm (March to October) & 10.30 am to 6.00 pm (November to February). Closed only on Diwali & Holi.

Office Timing: 10.00 am to 5.30 pm Closed on Second Saturday, Sunday and all Govt. Holidays.
